Ed Wachter C 6’1 240 19 Jersey City High
Lanky, aggressive, quick, and versatile, center Ed Wachter was a skillful and accurate jump and free throw shooter. Skipping college, Wachter was consistently among the scoring leaders in his league. Ed won’t be the strongest player in the league, but he’s adequately built to hold up against TMBSL bigs. His quickness and leaping ability will allow him to overcome his vertical challenge in both rebounding and rim protecting. He doesn’t figure to be among the league leaders in blocks but will alter and contest at the rim. His array of post moves is impressive for such a young player but there is certainly room for improvement. Very sound and disciplined defensively, and a very good pick and roll defender, though he may not have the counting stats defensively he’ll be no slouch at that end of the floor. A willing passer out of the post, he’s not a black hole offensively, and has good control when he does possess the ball. Entering the league as a teenager Ed has nowhere to go but up with professional coaching.
