Pointy Egg - San Antonio Spurs
GM Skill: F
Personality: F
Team Success: F
Final Grade: F
Breakdown: Personally I think Pointy is a good dude. But his interest level and participation level in 6.0 has been shit tier. His low activity has clearly impacted his team success. He's made a couple solid selection in the draft but turns around and forgets to re-sign them. If it wasn't for Eric giving him free players and never explaining why that was ok along with the mass sell over out west his team wouldn't be in a spot to succeed this year. Let's hope this sparks some love and attention to 6.0 from Pointy.
KC - Houston Rockets
GM Skill: D+
Personality: D+
Team Success: F
Final Grade: D
Breakdown: KC is in the same boat as Dump and pretty new to the league. So his grades will be more harsh. With that said he's done a good job of moving assets for future picks that are coming due now. He's attempting to get into the content world and thats a good sign. His team has been bad as he hasn't really been given the chance to really build that squad up but shortly we will see how KC with Dirt in passenger seat drive this rocket ship.
Fason - Utah Jazz
GM Skill: C-
Personality: C-
Team Success: D-
Final Grade: D+
Breakdown: Fason is another new comer to 6.0 but not the sim world and he along with the other noobs fall lower on the grade sheet because of the lack of time put into 6.0. Sorry Fason but I'm sure these grades will sky rocket when we hit the 20 year mark. With that said Fason is a honorable man and told sim he wouldn't make a selection in the expansion draft and kept his word. He's one of the best personality's in the league but has yet to step into the content creation world. His team has sucked by design. But hope is on the horizon.
Timmothy - Seattle Super Sonics
GM Skill: C-
Personality: C-
Team Success: D
Final Grade: D+
Breakdown: Timmothy was one of the most hyped GMs coming into 6.0, he was beloved and admired by the crew who took part in 5.0. In the initial GM Rankings he was put near the mountain top. Sadly for Tim 6.0 has proven to be much more challenging (maybe its because we have more than 10 active GMs?) and he hasn't really found success in the draft. Some of that is bad trade downs, other missteps is just bad TC luck. Either way he's struggled to find footing in the draft world. He has been better in the trade market and so with a smidge better TC luck you could see this grade improve. Tim is very active in shout and produces content that is largely good for the league. I personally wouldn't invite Timmothy to a BBQ as I fear he may fat shame those at my house and I don't believe in safe spaces so where would they go? The Sonics have never been contenders, being the west version of the bullets. Just in a land of nowhere.
Majic - Portland Trailblazers
GM Skill: D+
Personality: C-
Team Success: C-
Final Grade: D+
Breakdown: Majic started 6.0 with a bang by selecting Ralph Sampson in the draft. Passing over soon to be 6.0 HOFers in Carr and Ellis. He was able to make a few solid deals but the tear down of his roster in its prime didn't return the best packages. With that said Majic has a good excuses for his distracted GM work early on and congrats to his wife as they adjust to life with a mini majic in the home. Majic seems like a solid dude to discuss trades with and he seems solid in shout. He does provide content but that also could be considered a bit sloppy and distracted. Still we could use more GMs like Majic lets hope his second run of success provides better results.
IanBoy - Minnesota Timberwolves
GM Skill: B-
Personality: D+
Team Success: C-
Final Grade: C-
Breakdown: Ian is a pretty solid to deal with in the trade market. He's pulled off a couple solid deals and his desire to become the first Outside focused offense, though a fools mission is something he wont give up and for that I applaud his dedication. The no brainer selection of CP3 worked out perfectly but like Ank in the East he's largely struggled to put the pieces around Paul. Ian has zero personality, he's the leagues historian but I do enjoy the small fights he has with BK and the spider man meme beef with Tim is very good when it kicks up. He used to provide a FA preview but got lazy as fuck when he was given the gift of CP3 and that resulted in mega currency for doing jack shit. Much like the Knicks the Wolves have looked good in the regular season only to fizzle in the playoffs and it's left Ian title less in 6.0
Andrew Luck - Phoenix Suns
GM Skill: C-
Personality: D-
Team Success: B-
Final Grade: C-
Breakdown: Our lowest ranked champion of 6.0 is Andrew Luck. He's been able to draft a solid roster and he's active enough in the trade market. Never making any awful trades nor any amazing moves (See: Sixers - Kings) but the man upgrades his guys and keeps plugging away. Andrew is rarely if ever in shout and doesn't do much in the content creation world. He is a great guy when you get the chance to interreact with him but that's not often. People often banter on how the Suns are the worst team in 6.0 history to win a title, but fuck those people. Andrew got a ring. The loss of Penny is a devastating blow for the Suns so his franchise will be on to keep an eye out for as his transitions from title champion.
Handsome Pete - Los Angeles Lakers
GM Skill: C
Personality: A-
Team Success: D+
Final Grade: C+
Breakdown: Pete is a solid dude outside of the fact he sold me a fucking lemon. And because of that alone his grade is docked, deal with it pete because i've been dealing with this shit sandwich known as Marc Gasol. Pete has shown a fantastic ability to draft players and have them over produce as Lakers only for them to find new homes and well... Pete does a lot in the content creation world. He's also fantastic in shout and generally a great dude. Easy to talk trade and doesn't leave you hanging in the wind. His first competitive team didn't get over the edge but he did a very nice job of recouping assets for this next run. Pete is someone you could see elevate himself up the charts when Report Cards 2.0 is published.
Trofie - Milwaukee Bucks
GM Skill: A-
Personality: B-
Team Success: B-
Final Grade: B-
Breakdown: Trofie is an OG of the sim world. Historically one of the very best to ever run a franchise. He takes pride in wheeling and dealing and his trades have largely been very successful for him. He may have gone behind my back for gates and I may have gone behind his back for McCray but let's call it fair and square at this point. He's always been fair in trade talks and he's good at evaluating talent in the draft. Trofie is a fantastic dude in shout and he's one of the funnier guys part of the league. I wish he would produce more content because when he does its largely excellent (outside of the drunk pod where he and skrouse argued for 84 minutes) so hope on more pods and produce more glorious articles that send Odin, BK and Chap off the rails.
Dirty - Los Angeles Clippers
GM Skill: A-
Personality: B+
Team Success: C
Final Grade: B-
Breakdown: Dirty has made more trades than 9 franchises combined in 6.0, the man knows how to smooth talk and get the job done. He's by far the premier GM when it comes to trades. A bit of his downfall is the draft, but not that he makes bad picks but because he passed up on jumping into the loaded 3001 draft class. He also punted on other drafts and had some bad luck in the years he did have a player. Not that any of that matters because players average 1.2 years on the Clippers so that revolving door is always working. Dirt is one of the top content producers in the game. He would spend thousands of currency to produce draft articles and breakdowns that were extremely helpful to other low active GMs. Recently he's been hot and cold with sim that's led to a small drop off but when the man is locked in very few can top what he brings. Team success has not been something he's experienced. His over tinkering of early rosters cost him a very long window at the top and likely a chance of titles. And a pretty long rebuild has made the Clippers a non factor. But things are changing and the Clippers are sporting .500+ fracs currently. Hopefully the Clips stay healthy heading into the playoffs and we see someone bring a title to the city of angels.
Druce - Vancouver Grizzlies
GM Skill: B
Personality: B-
Team Success: B+
Final Grade: B
Breakdown: Druce doesn't get much fanfare as a GM. He goes about his business pretty quietly but efficiently. He knocked the creation draft out of the ball part and it led to strong success at the start of 6.0, druce was able to get out of his core just in time and cash for good draft capital because of it. He's always gotten deals done pretty easily without complaints from GMs around the league. Personality wise he and I apparently stand on different sides of the tracks and even though its surprising I don't think I've lost any sleep over it. Outside of that Druce is active in shout and produces solid content for the league with the pods he produces. The Grizzlies won a title in year 2 of the league and after a short reboot looked primed as one of the better roster in the west. Druce has done a nice job managing his windows as GM of the Grizzlies.
BK - Anaheim Amigos
GM Skill: A-
Personality: C
Team Success: A-
Final Grade: B +
Breakdown: BK has without question done one of the best jobs laying out a plan in 6.0 and following it. He was able to off-load creation talent to load up on draft picks early. Those draft picks were largely highly productive and he was able to upgrade them correctly. Small over pays to get players like Bol and Staten probably ruined the chances of the Nets ever hitting the over on 1.5 titles but that's minor hiccups to what has been stellar GM work. BK is also a very high producers of content for the league. From decent to good pods and massive data dump articles indented to help other GMs navigate a more complicated 6.0, not everything comes up sunshine for BK as his largely annoying, playing the victim personality in shout drives many to hate him. Not being able to take the small victory in player selections and hyping them to be mega stars also irritates many in the league. BK does acknowledge this as a personality deficiency but 10 sim years in no improvement has been made. BK is the only GM to win titles for two different franchises in two different conferences. Credit must be given to see no window for a second title coming out of the East and taking the first plane running out West to turn the Amigos into champs. The spotlight will always be on BK even if we don't want it to be and how he navigates the next 10 sim years will be interesting.
Chap - Texas Chaparrals
GM Skill: B
Personality: B
Team Success: A-
Final Grade: B+
Breakdown: Chap is largely considered the robin to BKs batman but for my personal report card rankings I have Chap as the better overall GM. He's not active in the trade market and that brings his skill level down. But he's nailed just about every draft pick, he was able to make good deals when its had to happen and even though he doesn't get much credit for the FA luck its been on his side in 6.0. Chap will ride or die for BK in arguments in shout like BK is his only friend in the world and at times it's cute but seriously find a backbone. On the flip side Chap brought up the FT video article that was fantastic. He's on pods and even though he's got zero knowledge on 70% of the topics discussed on those pods none the less he does his best to fake it. Team success is second to none. He's got two titles as GM of the Chapparrals and he's one of three GMs to 9 for 9 playoffs appearances. Chap hasn't been tested on the skills to rebuild or even re-tool just yet so thats something to keep an eye out moving forward because the team is aging and its elite PG wont be playing much longer.
