Good afternoon. I thought I would take a look at Training Camp and how it has been going for everyone again.
First, let's look at the TC that occurred today: 3009.
Next, let's take a look at TC results by team going back to the beginning of 6.0:
In case there was still any doubt about whether or not age and potential correlate with TC results, let's look specifically at those breakdowns:
We can clearly see that the better your potential, the better TC you can expect to have. We also see this with age.
Highest Career TC Growth (only includes seasons on a roster)
Worst Career TC Decline (only includes seasons on a roster)

First, let's look at the TC that occurred today: 3009.
- The Spurs had the best TC in TMBSL, going +10 as a team. No other team was higher than +6.
- The Magic had the worst TC in TMBSL, going -11 as a team.
- I saw skrouse complaining in shout about his poor TC and it inspired me to take a look. He wasn't wrong, the Magic did have the worst TC results. But that made me want to look a little closer. Was the Magic's poor TC simply a rest of bad luck or was it due to roster composition?
- I added the Average Age and Potential GPA columns to the chart.
- Potential GPA is just the letter grade of potential translated into a GPA like they did back in school. So A = 4, B = 3, C = 2, D = 1, F = 0 and then it is averaged across the team.
- Here we notice that the Magic had the worst potential in the league which aligns with them having the worst Training Camp results.
- The Spurs also had the best potential in the league which aligns with them having the best Training Camp results.
- The Magic were also tied with the Timberwolves (-4) for the oldest roster in TMBSL. That also contributes to the TC results. While the Wolves still had the 4th worst TC, their potential was nearly 0.5 higher than the Magic.
- The Spurs and Bobcats were tied for the youngest rosters in TMBSL and they had the best two Training Camps overall.
Next, let's take a look at TC results by team going back to the beginning of 6.0:
- Here, we see more of the same. Age and potential highly correlates with TC results. The Mavs and Bulls have had both the oldest teams and lowest potentials in 6.0 and unsurprisingly those two teams have had the worst total TC results.
- The Spurs, Stags, and Suns have had the most TC success throughout 6.0. While the Suns have a title and the Stags had a 1 seed before being contracted, the Spurs have yet to see any of their TC success translate into on court success.
- The Spurs have had on average the youngest roster and the highest potential in 6.0 which explains why they have had the best TC results.
In case there was still any doubt about whether or not age and potential correlate with TC results, let's look specifically at those breakdowns:
We can clearly see that the better your potential, the better TC you can expect to have. We also see this with age.
Highest Career TC Growth (only includes seasons on a roster)
- Chenky Baby da gawd maintains his crown.
- Joe Barry Carroll not far behind!
Worst Career TC Decline (only includes seasons on a roster)
- Josh Peppers, amazingly, has had a negative result in every single TC in 6.0. This is impressive.
- Age has caught up with Joshua Smith and Jarvis Lang who come in at #2 and #3 on the list. The Grizzlies big men who fell in the creation draft due to their low starting potentials wowed TMBSL GMs for seasons with their ability to avoid falling off in TC. Well, it appears their luck eventually ran out.
