Green comes to TMBSL after several years of being one of the most prominent stars of the Pac-10. A three-time All-Pac-10 1st Team performer, a Pac-10 All-Freshman performer, and the 1984 Pac-10 Player of the Year as a junior, Green also is among the greatest Beavers of all-time, finishing 2nd all-time in rebounding and 4th in scoring. Green is known as a devout Christian and humanitarian who abstains from drinking and smoking. He's also known for his incredible commitment, famously claiming to have never missed a class or practice during his college career. While he may not be an elite athlete and he's a four year player who has already developed significantly, Green does have an other-worldly work ethic and intangibles and should still be able to continue to grow his game through that hard work. He may not have the ceiling of the elite athletes in this class, but you can trust a person of his caliber will work hard and continue to improve.
An undersized power forward, Green makes up for his deficiencies in length and explosiveness with hustle and great instincts. He'll never be a shot-blocker, but he does have adequate strength and quickness to defend on the low block and range out to the wing to switch onto perimeter players when required. He is strong enough to hold up on the low block against most guys that will play the 4 and he plays smart team defense. He works hard to box out and hustle to rebounds that are out of position. Offensively, Green is a smart team player who takes good shots and protects the basketball. He's savvy enough in the post that he can create space for himself even though he plays below the rim and he's got a really soft touch finishing in the paint. He does a good job of handling contact in the paint and gets to the foul line at at exceptional rate (as a junior in college, he had an obscene .899 free throw rate. He's a solid jump shooter with range out to 20 feet and he replicates his stroke fairly well, making 70% of his free throws in college and maxing out at 77% made as a junior.
