Ty Corbin is a high IQ, winning player that should be able to help any team right away. He's a coach on the floor and does a tremendous job communicating on both ends of the court to make his teammates better. While he isn't a superb athlete, he is a very skilled player and does the little things that help teams win. In his time at DePaul, they became one of the better defensive teams in the country, especially during his junior year, when he led the Blue Demons to a 27-3 record and a #1 seed in the NCAA tournament (with very little other TMBSL-level talent to assist him).
Corbin's biggest detractors will point to his athleticism. He's only average in terms of explosiveness and lateral quickness. He's got good strength for a wing but by no means is it elite. But that hasn't stopped him to this point in his playing career. He is a smart offensive player who handles and moves the ball well and takes smart shots. He was, at times, a secondary playmaker for the Blue Demons and has a good enough handle to work without issue off the dribble from the perimeter and with his back to the basket. He's not extremely assertive and isn't going to use a lot of possessions, but he's got the ability to create offense for himself and others if he needs to. He's got a very good and smooth jump shot and the range to shoot out to the TMBSL three point line. He often shot jump shots in college from range and should become a very good catch and shoot option at the next level.
While his athleticism will keep him from being an elite defender, Corbin isn't a liability on that end. He's got very good defensive instincts and he makes up for his lack of athleticism with great positioning. He knows how to leverage his opponents and use his teammates to cover his own deficiencies. He's a hustler and never loses focus on the defensive end, which helps make up for the fact he doesn't recover well when he's beat because of his lack of twitchiness. He also hustles extremely hard on the boards on both ends, putting up really solid rebounding numbers for a wing in college. He may not be elite, but once again as a rebounder he won't be a liability.
