The Big Dog comes to TMBSL after four very successful seasons at Wichita State. He helped take his Wichita State program from a 17-12 record and a middle of the road offense in his freshman season as a starter to being the engine that powered two conference titles and three top 25 offensive seasons for the Shockers. What we've got here is a polished, complete player with four seasons of starting experience who should be ready to come in and contribute immediately.
Carr has a deft touch in the paint and the strength to finish through contact and make it to the free throw line where he has a solid stroke, making about 75% of his free throws as a collegian. He can knock down the elbow jumper with ease. In his senior year, he even showed the ability to step back and hit from 3, making three out of five attempts. Expect his low post game to translate to TMBSL for the most part, though he may struggle when dealing with help defense from some of the longer and bouncier centers at the next level. Once the ball gets to him in the paint, he usually looks to score instead of kicking it back out to shooters which is fine because he generally takes pretty good care of the ball.
Carr is a bulldog on defense and showed the ability to block some shots at the collegiate level. However, with larger and longer competition at the next level, we expect him to remain a tenacious low-post defender even if he doesn't continue to pad the block column of the stat sheet with quite as frequently as he did in college. While he does his part to clean the glass, this area of his game doesn't stand out as special.
