Duke
Blessed with tremendous size for a perimeter player, Dunleavy comes to TMBSL after a 3 year career at Duke that included a championship run in his sophomore season. A highly decorated collegiate athlete, Dunleavy won All-ACC tournament honors every year in his college career and was a Consensus All-American 2nd Team, All-ACC 1st Team, and All-ACC All-Defense in his final season of college ball. An efficient scorer who was also a solid defender, Dunleavy finished 5th in 3pt field goal percentage and 2nd in effective field goal percentage in the ACC his final season while also registering the most defensive win shares in one of the most competitive conferences in the country. He was a finalist and received votes for several Player of the Year Awards.
Dunleavy possesses a great all around game. He has elite size, length, and quickness for a small forward and has the tools to be a very good defender. While he needs to continue to add strength to maximize that potential, he still does a great job being disruptive, averaging over 2 steals per game in his final season and leading a very good Duke squad in blocked shots. Hustle player on the defensive boards where he's very good for a perimeter guy. He is a capable shooter with good mechanics. He hit 37% of his threes in college and took almost 7 attempts per game by his final season in Durham. While his shot mechanics are good and he can elevate and hit his jumper from all over the court, he needs to be more consistent from the charity stripe. He's capable at scoring in the interior and along the baseline...does a good job moving without the ball to get himself open. Converted a very high rate of shots from inside the arch as a junior, making nearly 60% and finishing especially well around the rim. He comes from a family of basketball coaches and has a very high basketball IQ and excellent shot selection.
