2.12.Vancouver Grizzlies (traded from San Antonio Spurs)- Joshua Smith 3 C 6'10'' 310 27 4 B- D+ C, C, C, D,
This here Joshua Smith fellow seems to have some pretty decent stat grades. A A scoring and B turnovers, everything else, however, is average or below average. He doesn't have high pot either but he's from Georgetown, so GO HOYAS! What's a Hoya anyway? It's irrelevant, that's what. I do think there's a lot of value in this pick although those upgrades are going to be more important for him that some others. He is, at least, better than any big I have drafted and I've draftedseveral none.
Grade: C+
2.13. Sacramento Kings- Dino Meneghin 1 C 35 19 6'9'' 243 C+ D+ D+ B A- F
F pot. You can't be smoking F tier pot. I mean you can, and I have, but I don't recommend it. I joke, but this guy is likely to be a defensive force for as long as he lasts in the league (1 year). Speaking of, why are all of the best shot blockers old as balls? Does eric not want us to have any fun? Ridiculous. Dino should be top 10 in blocks and boards but its possible he may shoot too much. Is that the result of #autodc? We will see, but if Irush isn't in a spot to be competing by year end I, and others, may make a strong push for this guy.
Grade: B- (but only due to age)
2.14. Carolina Cougars- Isaiah Austin 5 C 7'1'' 225 23 1 C, C, D+ C, C, C,
Much like Dino, Austin should be a quality d/r big...just with really really really low grades, which as we all know isn't completely impossible. The thing I like about Austin is he has Marfan Syndrome and so does my sister. Now, I genuinely hate my sister but Austin always seem like a good, passionate kid who wore some goofy glasses and definitely had that Marfan look. I'm very glad he's getting a 2nd chance in sim. 5 year deal is tough, especially at this price, but overall I think there's a very good chance he turns out to be a player. A player of what quality? Only Vishnu knows the answer to that.
Grade: idk this one is tough. either an F or a B+
2.15. Vancouver Grizzlies (traded from Philadelphia 76ers)- Retin Obasohan 5 PG 6'2'' 210 24 2 B- D+ C+ C- C, B,
I'm barely even going to address this one because it's a profile I made just for eric to shit all over. Turnovers aren't bad. Steals aren't bad. 18ppg his senior year and gets a B- inside scoring grade. UPDATE YOUR FIRMWARE ROBIT.
Grade: A+++++ Roll Tide
2.16. Indiana Pacers (traded from Golden State Warriors)- Drazen Dalipagic 3 SG 6'6'' 225 32 13 A- C- C- C- C- F,
Another player who will be very, very good until he inevitably falls off a cliff. Luckily he is only 32 unlike some of the old ass dudes, but still F pot. You never want F pot. That being said... A steals, B turnovers, B volume and efficiency. Probably an all star or two in his future. Honestly was the guy I was hoping to take at 2.17 but oh well. Like this pick a lot, Heebs is a smart guy.
Grade: A-
2.17. Charlotte Bobcats (traded from New Orleans Pelicans)- Larry Brown 2 PG 5'9'' 160 28 5 C- C+ A, C, D- C,
A assists, A steals, and C turnovers seems like a nice combination. The scoring grades leave much to be desired but that could honestly be due to the offensive focuse he was FORCED into by eric and his compubuddies. Not really sure I neeeeeeeded another pg so either him, Mitchell, or Downey will certainly be otb for a big but its too soon to tell which one it will be. However, I do think Brown is going to be a very nice player, even if he is something like a 5.0 Raymond Townsend with a tad more defense.
Grade: B+
2.18. Washington Bullets- Drew Neitzel PG 19 6'0'' 200 C+ C C+ D D B
I will be honest with you guys, I had no idea this guy was in the file. Also, I thought he was a SF. But this isn't about my dumbass opinions...oh wait, it definitely is. Good side: 19 year old rookie with B pot, already at A assists with reasonable turnovers and B volume isnt too bad either. Bad side: rebounding is bad, very bad. So is the defense and efficiency, but efficiency problems are the most common fix with upgrades. So we could actually be looking at a pretty good player here. Has time off made yawn a better GM? Yawn has the bullets right? Maybe I'm wrong. Roll Bullets Roll.
Grade: B-
2.19. Portland Trailblazers- Irwin Dambrot 3 SF 6'4'' 175 22 0 C, C+ D+ D, C, D,
Her? He is a rookie though with decent steals and efficiency, but still, her?
Grade: Her?
2.20. THE Chicago Stags- Devan Downey 1 PG 5'9'' 170 27 5 C+ C, B+ B+ C- C,
This is a pick that will eventually belong to THE Charlotte Bobcats. Did I need another pg? No, definitely not. But I like to go bpa and Downey really stood out to me. If he sucks, well thanks the gods for a one year deal. If not, maybe he's the one I move for a better big. He's got A assists and steals, B volume, but F turnovers. This sounds like a classic great value version of Cole Anthony to me.
Grade: C+
2.21. Vancouver Grizzlies- Jarvis Lang 4 PF 6'7'' 240 24 0 A- D+ D, C, C+ F
There's so much to say about this guy, specifically how eric cheated him greatly. This is a ROOKIE with a solid rebounding stat grade, good defense, bad turnover, and good to great scoring. I think this is where we all need to take a stand and boycott the league until these F pot rookies are give a reasonable pot value...like 60 of something. Just to keep them from being irrelevant in two season. Regardless, this will not be a pick Druce regrets in year 1.
