The big man on campus at Xavier playing in the mid-major Midwestern Collegiate Conference, Hill looks to take his game to the next level in TMBSL. Scouts are big fans of his thick frame and bully ball mindset on the interior. Their main concern is that he plays with somewhat below-the-rim explosiveness and has sub-par length for a big man and how does that translate against consistently larger and more talented opponents than he had to deal with in college. Already an average defender at best as a college player, scouts have some concerns how he fits defensively at the next level. He's never been much of a shot blocker and doesn't move extremely well laterally. While he's got the strength got out-leverage opponents on the low block and prevent them from getting to great scoring positions on the court, he doesn't have the length to challenge their shots if they do beat him to the punch. Fortunately, he makes up for some of this by being a superb hustler on the boards, and he uses his strength and leverage to box out well and seal opponents from getting to the glass.
While the concerns about athleticism and length mainly manifest on the defensive end, there is some small concern about his ability to continue to score the same way at the next level. Hill was an extraordinarily fearsome interior scoring threat at Xavier, but will he be able to continue to put his head down and will his way through defenses like he did there? He got to wherever he wanted in the low post and showed that he was an efficient finisher. When he wasn't finishing inside, he was getting fouled and going to the free throw line where he was a passable free throw shooter. He's got a decent jump shot but doesn't tend to use it past 15' or so. Much like on the defensive end, Hill is a good rebounder on the offensive glass, showing a lot of effort to overcome his lack of length and vertical explosiveness.
