Dragic is an intriguing prospect that's hype has been hindered due to questions about if he would really leave Europe and come to TMBSL. He is a long, rangy PG with good but not explosive athleticism highlighted by his speed with the ball in his hands. He loves to push the agenda and the pace once he possesses the ball and he can be a bit of a nuisance in the open court. He does a good job with his size and his handle of using his speed and craftiness to get into the lane and finish well around the hoop. He's got active hands on defense and a knack for interrupting passing lanes that helps facilitate a lot of his transition offense, where he imposes his will relentlessly. In half court offense, he has a craftiness about how he uses the pick and roll game to mimic the way he pushes the ball in transition and is very efficient at playing the two-man game once that action starts and he's attacking the basket.
The big question marks about Dragic involve his strength, shooting, and defense. While he does have active hands and the requisite length to be a very good defender, he occasionally loses track of his man and his focus and gives up plays he shouldn't. He's also a bit undisciplined with his closeouts and has a tendency to get blown by after leaving his feet prematurely. He also can be pushed around because he's lacking lower body strength. He has a serviceable shooting stroke but right now opponents can probably hang back and force him to shoot off the dribble, where he's not completely comfortable yet, rather than letting him penetrate and do damage in the paint.
If Dragic buckles down and focuses on improving his strength and focus and getting better at shooting off the dribble, he can become a very good player...but he's really going to need to work on those weaknesses to reach that potential.
