Javale McGeeC7'0"23720NevadaThe best way to describe McGee's game would be unpolished and undisciplined, which is a bit ironic considering both of his parents were professional basketball players. But McGee is bursting with raw potential...he runs the floor as well as any prospect in this class, he has insane wingspan for his size, and he has a very competitive spirit (that sometimes can be a bit of a detriment). McGee still needs to add strength, but his length and athleticism should make him an excellent shot-blocker and rebounder. Once he does add that strength, he should be a force defensively if he can get more disciplined at reacting to opponent shot fakes. For now, he can easily be drawn into the air at the hint of a shot attempt, and that makes him prone to a lot of silly fouling. McGee also needs to add some maturity in his offensive game. His decision making is terrible. He throws ill-advised passes and often takes ill-advised shots. He's only a 50% free throw shooter, but for some reason he took 45 threes in his college career (and somehow actually made 36% of them). He has a developing back to the basket game, so if he focused on that and using his athleticism to be a devastating pick and roll threat, he'd be an asset to any team. But the question is if he will mature to the point to play within himself and a system.
