Many scouts wrote off Muresan as another freakishly tall project similar to Shawn Bradley or Manute Bol coming out. The ones that dug in closer say they couldn't be more wrong. While he still possesses the freakish length and wingspan of the other two, he's got a bit more meat on his bones and is a bit further along technically than either of those players. He has developed enough of a post arsenal that he is a very efficient low post scorer, showing these moves off professionally in Europe before making the jump to TMBSL. And although his size means he's rather plodding and ground-bound, he still can do enough in the paint to get the ball in the basket and should be very efficient. He isn't going to show you much range outside of the low post, but that's okay because you don't want him to handle the ball all that much. He's mostly going to get the ball already in position to score and then look to convert, he's the last stop. He's also shown that he can be efficient enough at the FT line that he won't be too huge a liability, converting about 65% of his chances in Europe.
Defensively, Muresan doesn't have quite the upside as a shot-blocker that Bol and Bradley have, but that doesn't mean he can't still be very good as they are the elite of the elite. He isn't as quick as the other two to be much of a backside blocking threat, but he'll get his hands on plenty of shots just from his own man. He also sets himself apart by being a willing rebounder and being strong enough to hold his own on the block instead of being bullied around inside. He should put up above average rebounding numbers on both ends of the floor.
