William Buford 3001 All-Star Game Participant 3001 1st Team All League
Hank Gathers 3001 All-Star Game Participant 3x POTW 1x POTM 2nd in the League in Scoring
Overall this was a sad year for the franchise. The loss of Sharrar and inability to find a replacement offset the exciting news of William Buford joining the team. The Bullzards were handicapped by a workman front court that provided no spark. A midseason trade of Drew Neitzel for cap space signaled early on that things were changing in the chocolate city. There was some small controversy when it was discovered Hank Gathers illegally benefitted from a couple points more than he was allowed to have. Thankfully nobody gave a shit because honestly, the Bullets were meh this year. In the playoffs the Bullet raced out to a 3-1 lead against the heavily favored Bobcats. A late lead in Game 5 was blown and the Bullets lost all three games to drop the series.
Futility in the district continues.

3002
A mad season of transactions. Offseason trades for Chief Kickingstallionsims and shipping out William Buford ended with Chief and Hank being traded for picks and Jeff Ruland. The Bullets have finally accepted that Lloyd Sharrar isn't walking through that door and the rebuild has begun in earnest. The season couldn't end fast enough and the Bullets eyed using their newly acquired top 5 pick to shape the franchise's future.
Onward!

What a season! For me to poop on. Mike Conley's first season in the district resulted in some individual honors for the players but ended with him on the IR as the Bullets scrambled to miss the playoffs and collect that sweet sweet 10k Skrouse. Conley was easily the bright spot on the team with Jeff Ruland and Byron Scott being traded for a top ten pick. Conley made the All-Star Game, played in the rookie-soph game and finished first team All-Rookie. Averaging 20 and 10 as a rookie surrounded by dross is no small feat. Unfortunately Conley did not even take a step on the ladder this season. Just another sign of the the disrespect sent DC's way. Conley was joined by solid, if unspectacular, performances by fellow rookies Carl Landry and Alando Tucker. With no first round picks in the next two years, patience is key in the Chocolate City.
Highlights -Mike Conley -Carl Landry
Lowlights -The on-court performance.

3004. Oh what a season. Mike Conley was good, nothing else went right. Carl Landry was not moved despite efforts to move him. Salim was not the high scoring outside guard that was hoped for. Honestly I don't want to waste too much time on this season. What junk! With the offseason trade of Mike Conley the urge to ignore this team is going to be high. Dark days in DC.

Mike Conley is gone and 3005 was a historically bad season for the Bullzards. 10 wins! What utter dross. James Ray was signed in the offseason and showed good efficiency while being the only dope with a pulse in this godforsaken franchise. Management made efforts to move Ray all season but there was not a single offer made for Ray. There is a Ray of hope (kill me) as Joe Alexander moves from Morgantown to DC. Fans are excited to see how Alexander and Ray work together and with a plethora of picks and space, the Bullets are slowly, but surely, on the way back.

What year is it? Was it 3006? The Bulelts continue to hibernate but Jimmy and Joe took the National Capital Region by storm with their exciting offensive displays. Those two ran the floor, scored at will, and like the rest of the team played absolutely no defense. Rod Foster continues his decline with a historically bad training camp marred by literally shitting defense out his ass at the end of camp. There was a big Eastern European fellow playing and somewhere along the line some dude named Ricky Sanchez showed up. Herb was traded for money and a bunch of bums.
Yeah! Another season of BULLETS BASKETBALL in the books people!

The tide is turning! After some hemming and hawing the Bullets are moving towards being competitive. After drafting Marcus Smart and Clint Capela efforts were made to acquire pieces to make this team infinitely less CRAP. Enter TMBSL legend, and giant contract, Wayne Estes. Acquired from the Clippers for a middish round pick Estes instantly brought authority and veteran leadership to the listless franchise.
The Bullets have long held onto and made picks to slowly build the right way, but with Estes and Alexander in the fold and with 1.4 in the upcoming draft the decision was made to move for a true superstar. Enter the diaper adjacent dandy Kevin Love. Giving up the 2nd overall pick in a future draft was a high price, but a desperately needed move to invigorate a franchise stagnating since the Hank Gathers trade.
Marcus Smart and Clint Capela may have issues with turnovers but they have good building blocks and decent potential to build upon.Unfortunately Love was acquired too late in the season to see the Bullets make the playoffs but the future is BRIGHT!

3rd Team All League: Joe Alexander 2nd Team All Defense: Wayne Estes 1st Team All Rookie: Marcus Smart

3009
What an offseason!
GM Yawn took a sabbatical but still added significant pieces at cheap prices with Vin Baker and Winfried King. It is thought the league balked at reports of serious personal issues with Baker, but the District can't be choosy when it comes to adding talent. During the draft the Bullets had a dilemma between two gems but choose to ride the L-train with Lionel Simmons. Simmons might not have the highest potential but his ability to score on the inside and rebound has him as the heir apparent to the aging Wayne Estes. In the late 1st Bimbo Coles was added to provide depth at the point and Loy Vaught was chosen in the 2nd round as a future rotation piece in the front court.
With these moves in place the Bullet started brightly, albeit with a less than ideal lineup due to some absentee GMing. Turnovers and poor performances dogged the team all season as some key pieces really failed to get going. Sensing the need to shake things up, Ashraf Amaya and Salim Stoudamire were acquired to add depth. Mitch McGary was told his future lays elsewhere and all sandwiches in the MCI/Verizon/Capitol One Center will come without O.J. Mayo for the foreseeable future.
Things finally got back on track and the Bullets claimed their first frac (.001) in forever when DISASTER STRUCK and Kevin Love went down with a serious injury. After occupying the 4-6 spots all season the Bullets slid to 8th before finishing the season 7th in the (much tougher) Eastern Conference.
With many pundits around the league saying that the Bullets had no chance without Love, expectations were low for the playoffs. The Bullets were matched up against the 10 year Reich Dynasty of Philadelphia. However in the playoffs anything goes and in this case anything was a lockdown performance by Uros Slokar, superb point guarding by Marcus Smart, tenacious rebounding by the L-Train and an All World Performance by "Good Guy" Joe Alexander. The surprise Bullets upset the 76ers in 6 games.
Unfortunately missing their 2nd best player was too much to overcome against the Big City Knicks but hope has been restored in the District and 3010 just might be our year.
Honors:
A feeling of optimism in the District

3010 At some point as a franchise you develop an identity, whether if you mean to or not. Since the founding of TMBSL 6 back in 3000 the Bullets have tried to avoid the dreaded "Yawn Zone" by attempting to field teams that would not only make the playoffs but also sit in the top half of their conference and compete at the highest levels. However what has actually happened is the Yawn Zone means the Bullets build for success, leverage their high value picks and then a key player immediately bolts in free agency. It's left the Franchise feeling well...take it away Senor War Monger Anyway. KLOVE left because he has no loyalty and he couldn't live in the Chocolate City. Fuck him. The Bullets did sign Lloyd Sharrar because he's a desiccated carcass of his former self without any emotional intelligence. Fuck Him. Clint Capela took a big step forward in TC but also discovered he hated securing the ball, he needs to stop hanging out with Marcus "Not" Smart (with the ball). Vin Baker scores a ton, the L Train is turning into a stud and Joe Alexander is still SUPER EFFECTIVE. After a hot start, a disastrous attempt to install Bimbo Coles at the point nearly derailed this void of a season. Attempts to move Joe Alexander resulted in desultory offers. Wayne Estes was moved for pennies. Then the playoffs happened. And maybe this is what we call the new Yawn Zone? Matched up against a hobbled Hawks team, the Bullets boat raced probably the best team in the league. It's a shame that JHB's team wasn't at its peak, but you can only play what you are matched up against. Which meant in the next round the Bullets were facing a Clyde-less Indiana Pacers. Which, led to ANOTHER series victory. Is it impressive? Not particularly but it felt a little better after the KLOVE shaped turd in the punch bowl that marked the start of the season (ALSO KLOVE GETTING TRADED AND THEN LOSING WITH THE TWOLVES AHHHAHAHAHAHAH YES YES YES) . The Bullets were crushed LIKE A GRAPE by the eventual champions Knicks. That said, with a franchise that was only rated 4.5 out of 10 by some talking heads, I think making the ECF is still ok. We go into the season having to watch the KLOVE pick go off the board at two. Whatever. Yawn Zone is what you make it.

What a long strange trip it has been! Bullets management has been engaged in other endeavors the past few seasons, so we obviously can't provide you an update on literally the best few seasons this crappy franchise has seen! Sorry folks.
We enter the 3021 POISED- The Bullzards have made several moves over the past few years creating a monster wing duo of Caron Butler and Jayson Tatum. All world defender OG mans both wing spots from the bench and Shaun "Slim Reaper" Livingston mans the point. There are serious questions about the front court. Alpha Kaba's empty calorie statline doesn't match his wage packet and Loren Woods had worrying preseason. Nene and Jabari are going to be asked to do a lot of yeoman work. With Shaun in a contract year, do the Bullzards make a run towards the ECF?
Probably not. But that's the fast breaks basketball for ya folks! More to come

Several sim seasons have passed. To be honest, not much has happened. The Bullets acquired Gilbert Arenas, wasted him, acquired a few top 10 picks, and wasted them. However as we enter 3031 things are different. David Robinson is on board. The Mid-Atlantic and the Tidal Basin are the Admiral's to command. Unlike other sea themed heroes such as Aquaman, Robinson doesn't talk to fish, he scores, rebounds and defends. Juwann Howard is a low-key all league player at the 4 and Paul "Don't Call me Playoff P" George is a burgeoning star. The Bullets are primed for a new era. A new era that will require a different attitude and quite frankly a different brand.
The Bullets name comes from the franchise's time in Baltimore. When Baltimore made things other than HBO tv series about how shitty Baltimore is. It's time that the Bullets drop a name associated with weapons of war and adopt something that represents the Great Experiment that is these United States. We can confirm we are discussions with the league office to change the team name. Once that is done the Armory will be closed. This thread will stand forever as a testament to a Franchise steeped in mediocrity and disinterest.
