Best Draft Picks in the last 10 TMBSL Drafts
I wanted to look back at the last 10 drafts and take another peak after some time sim has passed. Was #1 always the best choice? Which drafts didn’t result an all-pro player? Is there a draft that really pops compared to others? Let’s find out, shall we? I'll tell you what. Some GMs are mighty fine at drafting BPA.
The 3011 draft 1985:
Patrick Ewing was the #1 pick from Ba and Trofie went b2b with Rebounding bigs Karl Malone and Charles Oakley. Dumars starting grades weren’t very impressive, but man has he blown up into a stud SG throughout the years. This was a pretty obvious choice of best player out of the 11’ draft. Porter and Mullin who went 6 and 8 helped Seattle with their championship. Not the worst draft but the star power lacked a bit with Malone and Patrick Ewing not becoming as Elite as possibly expected.

The 3012 Draft 1982:
As we all know the Gem of LA, Dominique was the obvious choice in this draft. It’s not hard to figure that one out. Worthy, Pierce, LaSalle are solid players and shows how good of a draft this year was. Other than those 4 you had a couple other guys that found themselves a role in the league but other than that it’s bare bones. Still a solid draft and better than 3011.
3012: 1. Los Angeles Lakers (from Philadelphia 76ers) - Dominique Wilkins SF 6'8'' 215 22 A- C- C, B+ B, C, Georgia

10. Portland Trail Blazers - Paul Pressey SG 6'5'' 185 23 C, B- B+ A- D+ B, Tulsa
3013 Draft 1-55:
There are several good players in this draft, Mikan started strong, you have Arizin a solid player Dolph Schayes has carved out a nice spot in Seattle and then Chicago. Even Beckman and Gates aren’t bad players. I just had to put the defending MVP as the best pick in this draft. He is also leading the charge for the bucks this season. Honestly, I think it’s one of the deepest drafts we’ve had when you look down the list of players that were drafted in this class.
3013: 21. Indiana Pacers - Harry Hough PG 5'7'' 145 18 C, C+ C+ C, D+ A, Bristol

10. Anaheim Amigos - Jack McCracken SF 6'4'' 205 23 C+ B- D, C+ C+ C, NW Missouri State
3014 Draft 2015:
You have 5 amazing players drafted in this class. You can argue it’s Turner or KAT but Winslow has turned into a stud wing that every team would want. This draft is littered with young A potential talent, and this could go down as the best draft in TMBSL history. I could put several players as the best taken but I love the position and the tools Winslow brings a championship team. JPV and Okafor are also standouts that most GMs would be happy to draft.
3014: 7. Portland Trail Blazers (from Bobcats) - Justise Winslow SF 6'6'' 222 19 C+ C, C+ B+ B- A, Duke
1. Anaheim Amigos - Myles Turner C 6'11'' 240 19 B+ C+ C, B+ C, A, Texas

10. Indiana Pacers - Rashad Vaughn SG 6'5'' 200 18 C+ C+ C, C+ C, A, UNLV
3015 Draft 2017
This was a very soft draft and you can argue Tatum is the best player but I think Fultz as flourished and improved to a stand out PG in the league. Other than these two players it’s Kaba, OG, and Thomas Bryant. They hold a strong role for a few good teams. Maybe Yawn can take the 3015 studs to the title this year. Now all he needs to do is trade for Fultz somehow. All in all not a terrible draft and we’ve definitely seen worse.
3015: 2. Cleveland Cavaliers (from Bobcats) - Markelle Fultz PG 6'4'' 190 19 B, C+ A- C, C, A, Washington
1. Phoenix Suns - Jayson Tatum SF 6'8'' 210 19 B+ C+ B- D+ B- B, Duke

4. Carolina Cougars - OG Anunoby SF 6'7'' 230 20 C+ D+ C, A- B- A, Indiana
5. Washington Bullets - Alpha Kaba C 6'10'' 242 21 A- C- D+ C, B- A, None
6. San Antonio Spurs - Justin Patton C 6'11'' 240 20 B, D+ C, B- B, A, Creighton
7. Vancouver Grizzlies - Frank Ntilikina PG 6'5'' 170 19 C, C, A- A- C- A, France
8. Indiana Pacers - Josh Jackson SF 6'8'' 210 20 C+ D+ B+ A- B, B, Kansas
9. Houston Rockets - Bam Adebayo C 6'10'' 250 20 B, D+ C- B+ B- A, Kentucky
10. Carolina Cougars - Ike Anigbogu C 6'10'' 250 19 C+ C, C- B- B- A, UCLA
3016 Draft 2013:
Man this was a tough one for me. It really boils down to Inside or Outside offense preference. There is a strong statement from Dipo that he should be the best player out of this draft. I just think The Freak can do a bit more with better FG%. It’s early this season but Giannis has really improved this TC and looks to be the slightly better player. CJ has done well in San Antonio and Gobert has improved to be a valuable asset but other than that it’s just some back up players that can help a championship roster. A good draft and one of the best 1-2 picks in the past 10 years.
3016: 1. Indiana Pacers - Giannis Antetokounmpo SF 6'9'' 200 19 B- C- B+ A- B- A, Greece
1. Indiana Pacers - Giannis Antetokounmpo SF 6'9'' 200 19 B- C- B+ A- B- A, Greece
2. Portland Trail Blazers (from Vancouver Grizzlies) - Victor Oladipo SG 6'5'' 215 21 B- C, C, B, C+ B, Indiana
3. Charlotte Hornets - Mason Plumlee C 7'0'' 240 23 B+ C- C- C, B- C, Duke
4. Portland Trail Blazers - Trey Burke PG 6'1'' 187 21 C, B- B- C, C- B, Michigan
5. Washington Bullets - Steven Adams C 7'0'' 255 20 B- C- D, C+ B+ B, Pitt
6. San Antonio Spurs - CJ McCollum SG 6'3'' 190 22 B- B+ C- C+ C- B, Lehigh
7. Indiana Pacers - Rudy Gobert C 7'2'' 238 21 B- D, D+ B- C+ A, France

10. Houston Rockets - Livio Jean-Charles SF 6'9'' 217 20 B- C, D+ B- B- B, France
3017 Draft 2000:
Man this draft was not great, a lot of meh at the top and bottom. Mihm went #1 but hasn’t really impressed like a 1.1 should. Darius has taken that potential and has become a starting caliber player evcen though his rebounding hasn’t improved as much as 20s had hoped. The other poor players in this draft just haven’t done much in the league and most likely never will. Mike Miller has potential but he’s stuck on the bench in Indy. Hedo was a steal from Druce this offseason and he could be the 2nd best player in this draft depending on what happens down the road.
3017: 2. Carolina Cougars - Darius Miles SF 6'9'' 200 18 B- C, C, B, C+ A, Lincoln
1. Los Angeles Lakers- Chris Mihm C 7'0'' 262 20 B, C, C- C, C+ C, Texas

4. Los Angeles Clippers - Stromile Swift PF 6'9'' 235 20 A- D+ C- B, B, C, LSU
5. Los Angeles Clippers - Mike Miller SF 6'8'' 218 20 B- B- B- C, C, B, Florida
6. Los Angeles Clippers - Jamal Crawford PG 6'6'' 195 20 C, B- A- C- D, B, Michigan
7. Anaheim Amigos - Desmond Mason SG 6'6'' 207 22 B+ C+ C, C, C, A, Oklahoma
8. Texas Chapparals - Eduardo Najera SF 6'8'' 240 23 B- C, C- B- B, B, Oklahoma
9. Chicago Bulls - Quentin Richardson SG 6'6'' 225 20 B- C- C- B, C+ A, Depaul
10. Pittsburgh Pipers - Ime Udoka SF 6'9'' 220 20 C+ C, A, C, C+ B, Portland State
3018 Draft 2004
D12 is a monster and I would take this big over any other in the league right now, I know he has some flaws but his D and Rebounding are elite as it comes. Two amazing bigs went 1 and 2 and the twin towers instantly brought gold to Seattle. This draft turned out to be a pretty good one for other GMs as well. I think Ariza has improved for the Chaps and Josh Smith has been good. JR Smith is having a good season even losing some inside scoring throughout his young TCs. I also like Livingston and if he continues to improve, he could be a really nice piece for the Bullets.
3018: 1. Seattle SuperSonics - Dwight Howard C 6'11'' 265 18 B+ D, C, A- B+ A, Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy (Georgia)

10. Toronto Raptors - Robert Swift C 7'0'' 245 18 B- C- C- B- B- A, Bakersfield High School (California)
3019 Draft 1967-69
I mean Kareem is a beast. Has his TO but blocks shots like a mad man. Obvioius #1 pick here and surprisingly Bingo has developed and become a worthy 1.2 for the Bucks. Walt is still getting his feet wet and I really like what’s bringing to the table with his defense and rebounding at the PG position for Tim. Hayes and Unseld are also nice pieces for their GMs and all in all a really nice draft. I would have been happy to have several picks in this draft like Trofie did.
3019: 1. Toronto Raptors - Lew Alcindor C 7'2'' 225 21 A- C, C+ B+ A- B, UCLA

10. Toronto Raptors - Jim Burns SG 6'3'' 195 21 C+ C+ C, B- C, A, Northwestern
3020 Draft 1978
Let’s get real Bird is the guy right now and heebs has a problem. He wields double great swords and can unfortunately only wield one. Bird is super subbing right now and looks to be an amazing rookie that still has +10 upgrades left. The starting grades with A potential are special and he should be a rock in the league for some time. I think it’s too early to discuss the other players in the draft as we haven’t seen Clemon. Theus and Purvis looks promising and Butch Lee has potential with his A/TO ratio.
3020: 1. Indiana Pacers (from Charlotte Bobcats) - Larry Bird SF 6'9'' 220 21 B+ B- C, C, B- A, Indiana State
1. Indiana Pacers - Larry Bird SF 6'9'' 220 21 B+ B- C, C, B- A, Indiana State
