I thought I would take a look at how successful offensively, defensively, and overall with SRS each franchise has been in 6.0. I also take a look at the most dominant overall seasons by each metric and which teams were tops each season in each stat. Charts below.
Takeaways:
- The Cougars have been the best offensive team in 6.0, followed by the 76ers and Knicks. Those three teams are a cut above everyone else.
- The Creation Season Mavericks are still the most dominant offensive team in 6.0 when compared to the rest of the league that season.
- By raw ORtg, the 3013 Lakers are tops at 140.2 followed by the 3021 Cougars and 3014 Lakers as the only teams over 139.
- The Cougars overall lead perhaps shows their ability to constantly have a top tier offense, but they have only been the top ORtg team in the league twice: 3005 and 3021.
- The Lakers have had the top ORtg 6 times and they all occurred in a 8 year window.
- The Knicks have been tops 7 times which is the most in the league which shows they have just been more volatile than the Cougars.
- The 76ers have topped the league 4 times, all before 3009.
Takeaways:
- To no one's surprise, the Indiana Pacers have the best mark here by a significant margin.
- After the Pacers, you have the Nets who only existed from 3000-3007 and the Carolina Cougars who were tops in offense.
- The most dominant defensive team of all time was actually not the Pacers, though. That title belongs to the 3024 Raptors.
- The Pacers have been tops in DRtg 9 times, although none since 3019. They were tops five seasons in a row from 3011-3015.
- The Sonics had three straight top billing honors from 3020-3022.
- The Raptors have been kings the last three seasons (3023-3025).
- The Cougars, Knicks, and 76ers are the only three teams to have lead TMBSL in both ORtg and DRtg.
Takeaways:
- The Pacers and Cougars are tight at the top, not too surprising as they are the only two franchises to have appeared in the playoffs every season. However, they only have one season between the two where they actually led TMBSL in SRS (Pacers in 3011).
- The top 3 SRS seasons of all time were all the Lakers. In fact, the Lakers actually had the top SRS in TMBSL for six straight seasons from 3012-3017. They only won two championships in that stretch.
- The Lakers, Knicks, 76ers, Bucks, Raptors, Mavericks, and Chaparrals have all led TMBSL in SRS multiple times.
