Day 1
76ers (106) vs Knicks (150)
On paper, it may not have been the prettiest matchup. But MSG sells out to watch the Knicks hang the banner. Star studded roster did not disappoint as Joel Embiid leads the way with 35 points. Knicks look like defending champs with a blowout win. Not showing bias, the Bobcats v Pipers matchup was worth checking out.
Day 2
Knicks (146) vs Bullets (136)
Showing it's no fluke, the Knicks go on the road and lead the league in scoring on day 2. New faces leading the way today. Kyrie with 32 points and 13 assists gets the player of the game in a borderline ... high scoring affair.
Day 3
Bobcats (146) vs Hornets (155)
Dear Diary - it only took three days to see a SHOOTOUT! PEW PEW PEWWWWW! The first overtime game of the year gives us a banger to watch. Hornets dominate the OT 18-9, lead by Tyler Johnson's 27.
Day 4
Lakers (145) Vs Pipers (149)
The fans love to watch this matchup. Defense is rarely in question and scoring is never a let down. These two strong offensive minded teams went to town in a thriller of a SHOOTOUT! PEW PEW PEWWWWW! Pipe-town takes the Lake Show down, lead by Patrick Ewing
Day 5
Cougars (126) vs Pipers (141)
In a matchup of two top teams, Ricky Pierce emerged as the surprising leader of the game. Having 31 & 11 to beat the cougars at home. NVE had 25 and 10 assists. Surprisingly ugly day for the league.
Day 6
Knicks (127) vs Bucks (129)
Knicks were down huge in the 4th quarter and had an amazing fourth quarter to make this a close contest. Marcus Eriksson leads the way with 27 points. Sadly, a game tying/buzzer beater was missed* (We assume - eric)
Day 7
Chaparrals (144) vs Pipers (158)
(Really hate using the Pipers in these) - But with that said, we have a new season-game high score in the classic SHOOTOUT! PEW PEW PEWWWWWW!!!! It's been a few days since the fans got to see one of these in the league. Beckman has a team high 40 points and 16 assists. Must see game for fans of no defense.
Day 8
Clippers (115) vs Jazz (114)
This game was basket for basket the entire way. Dennis Scott vs Derrick Coleman. 3D comes away victorious and possibly a buzzer beater or buzzer loser. 3D with 38 and 14 rebounds. *We do have a new season high game in Lakers (149) vs Chaparrals (159).
Day 9
Grizzlies (138) vs Stags (120)
Toughest choice we've had here at GOTD Recap. Another potential "No GOTD." We go with the overall highest score as we usually do in these circumstances. Michael Beasley kept the fans on their feet with 34 point performance.
Day 10
Jazz (142) vs Magic (107)
In another day of bad matchups, we focus on our first individual performance of the season. Derrick Coleman continues to be a stud. Leading the Jazz to a 7-2 record in the first 10 days. Insane 15-22 shooting leads to 41 points and 14 rebounds, both game highs. We assume he sat out the 4th quarter after leading by 30+ entering it.
Day 11
Spurs (95) vs Lakers (131)
It's not every day the fans get to see a 50 point game. Dominique put on a show, scoring 50 on 19 of 29 shooting.
Day 12
Chaparrals (144) vs Rockets (151)
Sound the alarms, we have a SHOOT OUT!!! PEW PEW PEWWWWWW! Scola leads the way with 31 points. Shooting was almost a combined 60% between both teams. Efficiency at it's finest. Home team comes up big.
Day 13
Cougars (152) vs Bobcats (129)
Highest scoring game of the night has the road team Cougs coming up with the dub. NVE has 29 and 10 assists in the big victory.
Day 14
Trail Blazers (123) vs Grizzlies (122)
Spurs (125) vs Chaparrals (127) OT
TWOOOOOO close games to give the fans some excitement. The big story of the night is Chris Mullin scoring 52 points but still coming up short in OT against the chaps. Chris Webber lead the way for the T'Blazers in the 1-point victory.
Day 15
Pacers (120) vs Bullets (123)
Clyde Drexler leads the game with 27 but the Pacers cant overcome the deficit the Bullets created in the 3rd quarter. Roy Hibbert with 26/11.
Day 16
Bullets (138) vs Amigos (154)
The fans get back-to-back nights of watching the Bullets play. Lackluster defense leads to the ... ShOoToUtTtTt!!!! PEW PEW PEWWWWWWWW!!!!!! Martell Webster Has 31/10 rebounds in the no-OT high scoring affair. Alpha Kaba?? Very good.
Day 17
Cavaliers (121) vs Raptors (118)
In a game of legends - James Worthy outduels Dave Jamerson to lead his Cavs to victory. Kyle "Get LBJ off my back" Kuzma has 13 assists. Very low scoring night for the league.
Day 18
Knicks (159) vs Stag (131)
Not enough offense yesterday? Welll SHOOUTOUT PEW PEW PEWWWWW alert! Knicks are frequent visitors here with their style of play. On this day, Serge Ibaka & Embiid both have 32 points. While Kyrie "The internet cant stop me" Irving gets POTG honors.
Day 19
Hornets (132) Vs Stags (125)
Derrick Rose sends the Stags crowd home unhappy with the huge performance. 28 points and 14 assists Kevin Love falls short in the loss with 33 points and 10 rebounds.
Day 20
Knicks (143) vs Pipers (152)
We just mentioned the Knicks, due to style of play showing up a lot. Pipe-town would be their counter-part, minus any inclination to play defense. PG battle alert caused this shootout PEW PEW PEWWWWWW. Kyrie vs John. 34/16 vs 31/14. Both players coming up huge, but Pipers get the big win at home vs the defending champs.
