The Fat Man enters TMBSL after a storied career at Arizona State. Fat, along with guard mate Byron Scott, helped bring the Sun Devils to national prominence. They helped terrorize opposing backcourts and make things tough, no matter who they played.
Fat is an old school point guard, he was always looking to push into the post and distribute from there. One area this helps him is in his relatively high rebounding numbers. Point guards aren't usually known to be strong rebounders but Fat is a “one of a kind” in that regard. His length helps him snag rebounds over bigger players.
Defensively, scouts expect Fat to be an impact player from the start. He anticipates very well and is lightning quick to jump passing lanes. If bodied up to another defender he will be a pest but will rarely block a shot.
Fat is a fantastic distributor of the ball as well, always looking to find teammates after penetrating the post. His eagerness to push the ball helps lead to open looks for teammates. Thankfully, Fat is careful with the ball and isn't likely to turn it over a ton. When he does look to pass he generally makes smart plays to help his team.
The biggest concern for scouts is his combination of size and play style. Fat has the tenacity to always attack but scouts worry about his lack of bulk. There is a lot of room to add more bulk but scouts aren't sure if he will put in the effort. While he can often make the right pass, his size does hurt him when he drives the lane to score.
Fat shot a respectable 75% from the FT line in college, so scouts are comfortable with his shooting form. However, he rarely looked to shoot the ball outside of the paint, so his range is rather limited. Scouts aren't sure if he has room to grow there or not.
After 4 years in college, most scouts expect Fat to be a ready made TMBSL player. While he has some areas he can improve on, scouts don't expect a ton of growth.
