I welcome the league adapting a soylent green approach with elderly FAs. They’ve had their fun.

yes, but only at the expense of existing free agents who i would otherwise have moved into those spots if people agree that is an acceptable cost, great if they don't or don't weigh in at all, i'm perfectly happy to keep the current system too Kill existing free agents. If a standard must be applied, kill the X oldest? I don't think you get to choose who gets lopped off from the FA pool. But losing existing free agents is fine. That's an acceptable cost.

As more and more teams are becoming contracted, I am realizing I'd be fine with just killing all the players from contracted teams.
The same volume of elite players with way less teams would really change what a good team/roster is. Would upset the league balance by flooding fewer teams with more great players.

I'm a fan of this idea too.

If GMs really care about their players they won’t allow them to die.

Delete players who would be eligible for the current system's contraction waivers.
If a player is going to hit FA and therefore would not be eligible for contraction waivers, keep them.
This is my vote.

I also think killing all the players could prevent GMs from quitting. Who wants that on their conscience?
