the analogy to someone making a pick that wasn't theirs would be someone protecting a player that wasn't on their team. had that occurred, dump WOULD have been allowed to make his picks again, just like everyone after the voided pick was sequentially allowed a crack at that player
i don't explicitly say anything is final because the alternative is anarchy, as demonstrated by the draft example, or by how once a trade is posted as accepted by both parties it's final regardless of whether one changes their mind and regardless of whether that remorse happens before at or after the trade or any other deadline. this is how everything in the league works when multiple GMs are involved, as we've discovered this is how it worked multiple times in past expansion drafts
First of the season DC's for instance. You can enter it whenever you want and make edits as long as its done prior to the DC deadline.
FA Bids are another example, I can send bids at any point and then change them as long as its by the deadline.
When we operate under this assumption for deadlines its not particularly fair to then change the interpretation of the rule. The deadline is in place for a reason, gives GMs the time for which they have to make a final decision.
it is consistent with the other deadlines when multiple GMs are involved. you sending bids doesn't impact anyone else's bids so you can change them however you want, same with DCs. with things that do involve another GM, you have an absolute latest point you can post them, but if you post them before that time they're still final. you can't unilaterally get out of a trade because the other GM accepted at 10 pm and deadline isn't until 1:30 the next day
