3001 TMBSL
Inaugural Re-Draft
1. Indiana Pacers (from Bullets) - Clyde Drexler SF 6'7'' 210 21
B, C, B-,B-,B-,A
B+,B,B,B-,B+,B
Improvement: (+7)
Clyde Drexler: Originally Selected 1.1 – Re.Draft 1.1 (0)
-For as much as Ellis has done in TMBSL I still think Drexler still goes #1. Some may think he’s underperformed slightly but he does everything well. He is arguably the most well rounded player in the league.
- 01' Selection: Clyde Drexler
2. Portland Trail Blazers - Dale Ellis SF 6'7'' 205 22
B+ C, D- C, C+ B,
A-,C+,D-,C,C+,C
Improvement: (+2)
Dale Ellis Originally Selected 1.3 – Re.Draft 1.2 (+1)
-1B comes in at #2 in our 3001 re-draft. Ellis has 2 championships and has become one of the most efficient wings in the league. He is a the perfect player you need to win a title. The best 1.3 we've had thus far.
- 01' Selection: Ralph Sampson
3. Philadelphia 76ers (from Stags) - Rodney McCray SF 6'7'' 220 21
C+,C,,B-,B,B,B,
B+,C+,C+,B+,B+,C
Improvement: (+5)
Rodney McCray: Originally Selected 1.7 – Re.Draft 1.3 (+4)
-He was originally taken at #7 is probably the biggest steal so far in 6.0. He does everything really well and is a perfect wing to play at SG. He has been a steady rock in SA. A big positive in the rebounding department puts McCray in our top 3 in 3001 redraft.
- 01' Selection: Dale Ellis
4. Philadelphia 76ers (from Grizzlies) - Antoine Carr PF 6'9'' 225 21
B,C,D+,B-,C+,B,
A-,C+,C-,B-,B-,C
Improvement: (+5)
Antoine Carr: Originally Selected 1.4 – ReDraft 1.4 (0)
-This is when things get a little more competitive. I decided to put Carr at 4 because of his track record and awards in the league. He might not lead the league in rebounds but does have a Playoff MVP under his belt. He is extremally efficient t and his pts/tsa is outstanding.
- 01' Selection: Antoine Carr
5. Sacramento Kings (from Pacers via Clippers) - Ralph Sampson C 7'4'' 228 22
B-,C-,D,B,B+,C,
B,C,D+,B,A-,C
Improvement: (+4)
Ralph Sampson: Originally Selected 1.2 – ReDraft 1.5 (-3)
-Sampson is a great big and would be a stud on any roster I would argue he would have similar awards as Carr if his roster made it to the finals. He blocks more shots than Carr but doesn’t have the volume.
-01' Selection: Sidney Greene
6. Charlotte Hornets - Sidney Green PF 6'9'' 220 22
B+,C,D-,C,C+,B,
A-,C,D-,C+,B-,C
Improvement: (+3)
Sidney Green: Originally Selected 1.5 – ReDraft 1.6 (-1)
-Probably one of the easier selections in our redraft. His TO are bad but he is a pure volume type scorer that any GM would take at 6. He has some deficiencies but is still strong enough to lead the league in PPG.
- 01' Selection: Darrell Walker
7. San Antonio Spurs - Manute Bol C 7'7'' 200 20
C,D+,D,C+,C,A,
C,D+,D+,A-,C,B
Improvement: (+4)
Manute Bol: Originally Selected 1.9 – ReDraft 1.7 (+2)
-A possible controversy selection for some but I think his stock has risen as his blocks have continued to grow. The DPOTY going 7 is a really good pick. His price tag has only increased as the years have gone by.
- 01' Selection: Rodney McCray
8. Sacramento Kings - Randy Wittman SF 6'6'' 210 23
B-,C,D+,C-,C,D,
A-,C,D,D+,C,B
Improvement: (+1)
Randy Wittman: Originally Selected 1.15 – ReDraft 1.8 (+7)
-For a player with D potential, he has really turned into a good piece for the Lakers. He might not get starting minutes but wings are hard to come by and his scoring grades are solid and will continue to help a championship roster moving forward.
- 01' Selection: Derrick Harper
9. Philadelphia 76ers (from Cougars) - Steve Stipanovich C 6'11'' 245 22
C+,C-,D+,C,B-,C,
B,C,C-,C,B-,C
Improvement: (+4)
Steve Stipanovich: Originally Selected 1.10 – ReDraft 1.9 (+1)
-Stip has been a 3rd big for Carolina throughout his entire career. He is super strong in scoring and a solid rebounder that will help any team.th b His minutes have stayed down but is a top of the line big for any championship rotation.
- 01' Selection: Manute Bol
10. Carolina Cougars (from 76ers) - Derek Harper PG 6'4'' 185 21
C+,C+,A-,C+,D+,B,
C+,A-,A-,B-,D,B
Improvement: (+4)
-Derek Harper: Originally Selected 1.8 – ReDraft 1.10 (-2)
Some would have redrafted Harper over Wittman or Stip but he’s not an amazing player that you just have to draft early. I think he is a decent PG that can play on a playoff roster but will not be a corner stone for any franchise. I put him here because he was a mentor last season and has some all-league hardware to his name.
01' Selection: Steve Stipanovich
11. Golden State Warriors - Stewart Granger PG 6'3'' 190 21
C,C,B+,D+,D-,B,
C,A-,A,C-,D-,C
Improvement: (+8)
Stewart Granger: Originally Selected 2.3 – ReDraft 1.11 (+21)
-The big 2nd rounder had an amazing rookie TC and was fortune to get his full mentor upgrades as-well. Without his +15 mentor upgrades maybe he isn’t on this list. He was an all-star last year and has turned into a solid top PG in the league.
-01' Selection: Byron Scott
12. Cleveland Cavaliers - Winfred King C 6'10'' 240 22
C+,D+,C-,C,B-,C,
B+,D+,C-,C+,B-,C
Improvement: (+4)
Winfred King: Originally Selected 2.5 – ReDraft 1.12 (+22)
-King was in the same boat has Granger when it comes to mentor upgrades. His rebounding has improved and gave us the reason to redraft him at 12. He’s played on some good teams and has been a contributor helping them make the playoffs.
- 01' Selection: Skipped
13. Los Angeles Lakers - Tom Piotrowski C 7'1'' 240 22
C+,D+,D+,C,C,A,
B+,C-,D+,C+,B-,C
Improvement: (+7)
Tom Piotrowski: Originally Selected 1.19 – ReDraft 1.13 (+6)
-Pio Pio has been a silent assassin tucked away in Portland for his entire career. He has solid stats and has put that roster in a position to nearly upset the #1 seed last season. For not being mentor eligible he slides into the redraft at 1.13.
- 01' Selection: Thurl Bailey
