The 3003 Allstar Game presented by GBG Productions (442 views)

Tonight we broadcasted the 3003 TMBSL All-Star game on twitch in front of several league members.  We had a health twitch chat as well.  I appreciate you guys tuning and and participating.  This is still a work in progress.  I'll continue to fine tune the players, and I'll try to make this a regular thing each season.  Ideally, I'll broadcast the game the night after the actual sim league all star game each season.  

Game Summary:
    The East got off to an early lead behind balanced scoring that was led by Mike Conley and James Blackmon Jr.  The East did a decent job against Antonio Gates and Derek Harper who took the majority of the West's shooting in the first, holding them to a combined 4-11 shooting in the first quarter.  The East was able to get out to a 6 point lead after one quarter.   

    In the second quarter Conley continued to play well; while Clyde Drexler and Luke Maye also got into the scoring act. Bootsy Thornton also provided a nice spark from the bench.  For the West, Gates got on track attacking the rim going 4-5 in the second quarter including a posterizing dunk over a helpless Clyde Drexler.  Gates did most of the heavy lifting, but some questionable shooting from Marc Gasol who went 0-4 from 3 pt range in the first half allowed the East to extend their lead to 7 points at the break.

    The third quarter was a lot like the second quarter.  It was evenly played with Conley and Clyde leading the way for the East,  with some help from Dubljevic adding a couple buckets on perfect shooting off the bench.  The West was led by Marc Gasol who finally realized he should be playing in the paint, and more from Antonio Gates who added six points to his game leading scoring performance.  The West was actually able to win the third quarter by one, leaving them trailing the East by 6 heading into the final quarter.


    In the final quarter the West was able to get hot late, after trailing by as many as 11 points the West just took over.  The entire East team went cold, especially Luke Maye who went 1-5 and 0-3 from deep and Clyde Drexler who was held to 1-6 shooting in the final quarter.  Even the steady Mike Conley was held to 1-4 shooting in the 4th.  This allowed the West to take the lead and never look back.  Gates and Derek Harper had a couple baskets, but it was Sidney Green and Ralph Sampson who took over late, scoring a combined 14 points on 6-7 shooting in the final quarter leading the West to a 7 point victory and 71-64 Final.

Yeah, I created last season's allstars in NBA2k21 with the same grades they have in the sim league.  Obviously, I don't have every attribute of every player and some of the grades are broken down differently in 2k than in the sim software, but I tried to balance the 2k grades to be the equivalent of the sim league shown grades.  I put the eastern all-stars on the Boston Celtics, and the Western all-stars on the Lakers and created a 2k league.  I turned off injuries, and set the rotations for both teams to be 24 minutes for each of the all-stars and I simmed up to the point where the Lakers and Celtics play.  So, tonight I can just broadcast the game and we'll see how it all plays out.

I wasn't able to correct some of the player ages, but I figured that's not really a big deal for our purposes.

I don't know that I could pull that off.  I don't think the game would allow me to select the participants.

cool idea. maybe some type of GM draft exhibition matchup? i.e. how nba all-stars is Team Lebron and Team Whoever, we could have 2 gms (one of them be you?) make the selections and then see them fight

I’d like to see Team Bankz vs Team BK. Snake draft format where you can select teams from either conference.
