For the past two sim years I have enjoyed Ian's FA preview articles. I heard that he was not making one this year since it is such a poor FA class (this is VERY true after looking at the players for a bit). I decided that I would keep the tradition going though. I tried my best to not completely copy Ian's articles' format and style. Now that we are getting more re-signings, I thought I'd dedicate a section to who I think will be worth re-signed, in addition to the true free agents. So here we go...
3003 Free Agency Point Guards After some review, point guard might be the "deepest" position during this free agency. This may be nice for people who did not add a point guard in the draft.
Edit: I'm walking back the first part of this statement after I had to remove one player from my list. I don't think this position is any better off than others. That being said, you do have some options if you didn't get a PG in the draft. Re-signings
1. John is a confirmed Re-signing. Name | Age | Exp | Pos | Height | Weight | In | Out | Hn | Df | Reb | Pot | G | M | P | R | A | S | B | T | FG% | FT% | 3P% | P/TSA | PER | Previous Team | 3002 $$ | Re-sign $$ | Yrs. | John DiBartolomeo | 29 | 8 | PG | 6'0'' | 175 | C | C | C | C | D- | B | 82 | 26.1 | 7.3 | 2.0 | 3.9 | 0.9 | 0.2 | 3.0 | 0.436 | 0.709 | 0.209 | 0.941 | 7.4 | Cavaliers | $6,000,000 | $840,850 | 1 |
2. Hollins obviously didn't play many minutes and he's the player with the least number of games in this post. I figured that maybe it was just enough playing time that his efficiency is not a fluke. I could very well be wrong about that, but on a cheap one year deal, why not take a chance in a weak FA class.
Name | Age | Exp | Pos | Height | Weight | In | Out | Hn | Df | Reb | Pot | G | M | P | R | A | S | B | T | FG% | FT% | 3P% | P/TSA | PER | Previous Team | 3002 $$ | Re-sign $$ | Yrs. | Tra-Deon Hollins | 27 | 6 | PG | 6'2'' | 195 | C- | C | C | C | F+ | D | 26 | 7.5 | 2.5 | 0.5 | 1.1 | 0.2 | 0.1 | 0.7 | 0.609 | 0.667 | 0 | 1.248 | 11.2 | Bullets | $653,350 | $1,394,877 | 1 |
3. Raivio has pretty solid production, again I'd accept the cheap 1 year deal.

4. I believe Staten is worth the large contract. I'd be very surprised if it is not accepted.

Bonus: I don't want to give my off-season strategy away, but DaChaps will re-sign Gaddy. Just not on this contract. I think if you look back at my previous free agencies, you could figure out what I'm going to do with Gaddy.

1. Davis is a known quantity at this point, good scoring, bad turnovers. I think that there is a team out there that could use his services though.

3. I know the Nets just traded for Brown last season, he'd probably tell me to move him up the list (to number 1??). I'm interested to see what kind of contract he gets offered.

4. Mims is a clear 4th best, but his stat line is not bad at all. He should get a contract similar to the previous 3 players.

Shooting Guards The only reason I listed 5 free agent options for shooting guard is because I think the Zam Fredrick II re-signing will be declined.
Re-signings
1. Appleby just skirts by with enough production to be worth the 1 year deal, I think he's re-signed.

Small Forwards Slim pickins' here. I was hesitant to even add Lightly to this list, but I didn't want to go below 4 options.

Centers When it came to the centers I was mainly looking for defense (excluding Joshua Smith, his offensive talent is obvious). With that said, I don't think the options listed are particularly good at defense, just the best available.
Re-signings
1. Francis is a well rounded big agreeing to a 1 year deal. Do you want this well rounded big??? I'd lean yes.
Name | Age | Exp | Pos | Height | Weight | In | Out | Hn | Df | Reb | Pot | G | M | P | R | A | S | B | T | FG% | FT% | 3P% | P/TSA | PER | Previous Team | 3002 $$ | Re-sign $$ | Yrs. | Torin Francis | 32 | 11 | C | 6'10'' | 252 | C+ | C- | D- | C | B- | C | 52 | 21.0 | 9.7 | 6.6 | 1.3 | 0.9 | 0.6 | 1.9 | 0.47 | 0.624 | 0 | 1.009 | 15.3 | Timberwolves | $8,000,000 | $2,186,009 | 1 |
2. James is a confirmed re-signing.

Free Agents
1. This will be a similar contract situation to Drazen. The difference is Smith won't be retiring soon. I think this could be one of the better signings this free agency.
Name | Age | Exp | Pos | Height | Weight | In | Out | Hn | Df | Reb | Pot | G | M | P | R | A | S | B | T | FG% | FT% | 3P% | P/TSA | PER | Previous Team | 3002 $$ | Re-sign $$ | Yrs. | Joshua Smith | 29 | 7 | C | 6'10'' | 310 | B+ | C | C | C | C | F | 82 | 34.1 | 27.1 | 7.7 | 3.2 | 1.4 | 0.1 | 2.0 | 0.56 | 0.798 | 0 | 1.232 | 26.4 | Grizzlies | $10,000,000 | $0 |

2. West is a little bit more efficient than Brimah.
Name | Age | Exp | Pos | Height | Weight | In | Out | Hn | Df | Reb | Pot | G | M | P | R | A | S | B | T | FG% | FT% | 3P% | P/TSA | PER | Previous Team | 3002 $$ | Re-sign $$ | Yrs. | Mark West | 23 | 2 | C | 6'10'' | 230 | C | C- | D+ | C | C | D | 82 | 27.3 | 9.8 | 7.3 | 1.8 | 0.8 | 0.5 | 2.6 | 0.474 | 0.667 | 0 | 1.022 | 11.7 | Magic | $465,850 | $0 |
|
3. Brimah doesn't shoot a lot, will get you some rebounds, some steals. Could be a decent back up.
Name | Age | Exp | Pos | Height | Weight | In | Out | Hn | Df | Reb | Pot | G | M | P | R | A | S | B | T | FG% | FT% | 3P% | P/TSA | PER | Previous Team | 3002 $$ | Re-sign $$ | Yrs. | Amida Brimah | 29 | 8 | C | 7'0'' | 217 | C | D+ | D | C | C | D | 78 | 26.7 | 4.3 | 6.8 | 1.3 | 0.8 | 0.8 | 1.2 | 0.468 | 0.56 | 0 | 0.983 | 9.2 | SuperSonics | $1,915,334 | $0 |
|
4. Dixon got added after I was taking a look at Ian's 3002 article. You could even convince me that he should be above Brimah. Again these are OK back up players, but it's kind of like picking out the best onion at the grocery store.
Name | Age | Exp | Pos | Height | Weight | In | Out | Hn | Df | Reb | Pot | G | M | P | R | A | S | B | T | FG% | FT% | 3P% | P/TSA | PER | Previous Team | 3002 $$ | Re-sign $$ | Yrs. | Nigel Dixon | 26 | 5 | C | 6'10'' | 333 | C | D+ | D- | C- | C | C | 38 | 16.0 | 9.2 | 4.3 | 1.4 | 0.5 | 0.2 | 1.5 | 0.486 | 0.642 | 0 | 1.033 | 16.8 | Cavaliers | $7,000,000 | $0 |

If you made it this far thanks for reading. I'm sure there are some players I missed talking about that will be worth signing. I liked doing this article since I got to learn how to make the tables on the website itself. Hopefully I wasn't stepping on your toes IanBoyd . I hope this helps someone like the previous articles helped me in FA.

in general i recommend looking at per 36 stats. for example you find tshiebwe's counting stats underwhelming but per 36 he's #3 in blocks and #1 in rebounds of free agents last year, you suggest anagonye as a no shoot big but per 36 he scores 20 points
the ultimate stat of course is Good Plays Per 36 but that algorithm is proprietary

Basically if you get tshiebwe more minutes, even as a backup, he would have a nice stat line. I didn't mean to imply anagonye is a no shoot big either.
But you are probably right, per 36 stats might be better if I do this again.

Its good work chap but the article is tough on the eyes. Individual boxes and no color. The tables are really shitty using what just available on the website, this is the best option I was able to settle on. Just inserting pictures might be a better idea, like BK did on his last article.

maybe something like this, drop the border spacing to 0, the border to 0.5px, change to #777777, throw in some td widths to even it out a little Name | Age | Exp | Pos | Height | Weight | In | Out | Hn | Df | Reb | Pot | G | M | P | R | A | S | B | T | FG% | FT% | 3P% | P/TSA | PER | Previous Team | 3002 $$ | Re-sign $$ | Yrs. | John DiBartolomeo | 29 | 8 | PG | 6'0'' | 175 | C | C | C | C | D- | B | 82 | 26.1 | 7.3 | 2.0 | 3.9 | 0.9 | 0.2 | 3.0 | 0.436 | 0.709 | 0.209 | 0.941 | 7.4 | Cavaliers | $6,000,000 | $840,850 | 1 |
you wouldn't have to do 777777 either you could alternate between like 88DDDD DD88DD 88DDDD and other combos of 88s and DDs for bankz' precious colors
