1. What was the best signing of the offseason
Heebs - Ron Moore. Pacers are moving to an outside offense and Moore is a terrific looking no-shoot big with B potential and all of his uppies left. He won't ever block 3 per 36, but if he gets to 12 reb/36 and 3.5 bleals, he will be an absolute steal on that contract.
Timpig -The Kings grabbing Arenas was very good for the position that they're in and I think he can make them relevant much sooner than a lot of expansion teams. He'll be fine for the first three or four years, either on the Kings or as a flip for a king's (LOL) ransom. If the right deal doesn't come along, he's only 50k away from freeing up that space and has a guaranteed podcast co-host in BK.
Other than that, the Okur signing was really solid. I liked Okur early in his career, but the turnovers were slightly worse, defense was only average, and his FT% was awful. He's improved on his TOs and especially defense while his free throws remain abysmal. As Delap has stated he's going with an inside offense, I don't foresee this happening, but I bet Okur could be a dynamite D/R big with a reset.
RW -Not one jumps out at me but I like the Mehmet Okur signing for delap will take the cake. Okur is an elite scorer who was a large part of the Rockets dominance last season and he got him for solid money. Odin grabbing Quickley is the second best signing. A foundational PG who solidifies a key position for him to build around. Recent new GM signings like RW maxing Jordan and Montreal dude maxing Melo show new GM’s eagerness to make a splash that often ends in an amnesty.
Trofie - I really liked the Hulett signing. I'm amazed that heebs gets some of these resigns although a bunch of it was luck as I offered him more $ the first day of FA and he didn't accept. I also liked the Okur signing
2.What is was the worst signing of the offseason
Heebs - Lots of 1 year deals, which can't be all that bad given they are short term. Ike could be an amnesty candidate if he sticks around a year or two, so I'll say Ike. The Jessup signing could also be pretty gnarly, but I'd rather make fun of Ankly than RW, who is still getting his bearings.
Timpig - On the other end for the Raptors, I don't see it with Paul Davis. He appears slightly above average and is getting paid a handsome amount of money. He's below average in career pts/tsa, an average or slightly below average rebounder for a big, and doesn't block an impressive amount of shots.
I also think the Quickley max was a bit of stretch. He'll fill it up on that Bulls team but he'll also rack up turnovers. Not a huge deal as Odin doesn't really mind amnestying his whole team and starting from scratch every few seasons.
RW -Me, Justinian Jessup probably won’t start for me this year and I just maxed him. I was hoping with his B B+ scoring grades he could go +1 and be a viable above average SF. Instead he went -1 and is now has B B scoring grades. I will probably have to amnesty him in a year or two.
The Paul Davis deal and Jason Richardson deals are HM. Seems like they were overpays particularly the Paul Davis deal mediocre big for 10 mil a year.
Trofie - I didn't like the Quickley signing at all but Odin has been gone for a bit and probably doesn't realize those type of Pg's are common(although he is a step above most in the same mold) They just aren't max pg's. There aren't many in the league. I also hated the Paul Davis signing.
3. Odin has already said this is slow and boring for him. Does he last 5 seasons?
Heebs - Yes. Odin loves to build rosters, but doesn't love to maintain them. So he'll be excited to build a team and potentially peter out around year 7 or 8 if he doesn't succeed. If he makes a juggernaut he'll be around for the rest of 6.0.
Timpig - I think he lasts five seasons assuming everyone else accommodates him, but the level of commitment during that time could be a rollercoaster. If he makes it through one full season without re-quitting, I think he'll get re-accustomed to the speed of everything and continue along without much issue.
RW - Yes. Odin is prone to wild sways. My prediction is Odin will be here for 10-15 seasons with a title or two and an equal amount of rebuilds because he gets bored. Then one day he won’t be into the league and will quit and stay quit for a year then be back.
Trofie - I'm on the fence. I haven't been on during the days so I don't know how active he's been. I think he makes it through the winter.
4. Who is the most underrated player in the league that is not on your team?
Heebs - Cole Anthony. Someone with cap space needs to steal him next offseason. His athletics are off the charts and he has all his uppies left.
Timpig -Maybe I'm not answering this in the true spirit of the question, but Tyrese Maxey doesn't get the love he should. Considering Quickley just got maxed (and likely would've gotten somewhere close to that from someone else if Odin didn't max him), Maxey should be in the same ballpark but I received zero offers for him outside of Pointy. His pts/tsa are comparable to Quickley, he has better rebounds, and just received some mentoring and upgrades that'll help him even more.
RW -It seems like there are a few guys on great teams that haven’t gotten a chance to ball out. Guys like Saddiq Bey, Murray Jarman and Rudy Gay. I’ll go with Saddiq because he may be the best of the bunch. Honorable mention to Tyson Chandler. He is a borderline elite big who never seems to get the chance to be a focal point.
Trofie- I'm going with Juwan Howard and Frank Ntilikina. Both have had long underrated careers. Another one to throw in there would be Darius Miles. Ank was shockingly reasonable for years trying to trade him I just wasn't in the position to do so.
5. Billy traded a 1.2 for Whiteside. Thoughts on this?
Heebs -It makes me snicker because he is so critical of me taking Bynum, on a rookie contract, with a 1.3. He was absolutely robbed by 20s, which makes me feel better because I felt like I got the best of 20s when I traded Whiteside to him.
Timpig - It's not awful but I don't think it's a trade to be celebrated on its surface if you're BK. 20s gets frustrated by Pops and how often he shoots, and Whiteside is kind of like that but also shoots more and his defensive stats are offset a bit by his high turnovers. You like the rebounding and defense of course, but he's got some major flaws that I think you could probably could've avoided if you were offering a 1.2 (someone like Alabi comes to mind).
RW - Wild. Particularly considering Whiteside’s TO’s. Sure he’s good, but great, not sure. This does present a question I can’t answer. It seems TO’s heavily effect W/S, no? Are TO’s that detrimental to a player’s contributions? It would seem a guy who puts up 10/14/3.5(blocks) would be elite but the w/s seem to say otherwise. Is it largely because of TO’s or because of his low FG%. A combination to some extent but I’m not knowledgeable enough with the software to properly balance those.
Trofie - I thought and think that it was really bad. He' s an elite Defender and rebounder who isn't extremely low volume and has turnover issues. Bk must really like the guys he's got on his roster because he really wanted to unload that 1.2. I thought he would sell of Henry who is really valuable and try and stack picks and take more risks in FA.

7. One team you think will surprise everyone by the end of the year
Heebs - The Raptors. They have assembled a very good inside team and anticipate they will fight for home court in the east, which is surprising given where they were last year.
Timpig -I think the Bullets have a really solid frontcourt with the addition of Robinson, an all-league player in Juwan Howard, and the grades gawd in Paul George. The team is well constructed on the inside and obviously built for an inside focus. I'm not a big fan of the backcourt, but I bet Yawn could find a shooting guard-eligible small foward on the cheap to slot in at the two, and someone like Jason Kidd to man the point and he's got a real stew going (assuming Robinson doesn't tank like Patrick Ewing ).
RW - Bulls. I don’t know how Odin will surprise us but he will. He will find some bizarre gems that no one has even thought could be productive or he will find a superstar. Maybe he will make a big splash and trade away a high pick or he will gain a top 10 pick.
Trofie- I'm going with the Bullets , I really like the team that Yawn has developed and I think they will be great moving forward. They need a long term solution at PG and I don't know that Alvin is the guy at SG.
8. Do the Mavs win again
Heebs - 100% sure. The clearest threat to the Mavs dynasty are the Pacers, who had Bird, Hulett, Frank, Onyeka, just drafted Reggie/Horace, and have 1.1 in the upcoming draft.
After seeing the on roster scouts from the latest TC, it is obvious that the commissioner is tampering with the file to handicap the Pacers and ensure the Lebron dynasty will continue. We understand that the relevant authorities are investigating the matter now and there is a team of digital forensic specialists working diligently to review the evidence.
With that in mind, the only way the Mavs don't win is if Dirt trades Lebron, in which case expect the new GM's team to have some pretty good TC "luck".
Timpig - Sadly, yes. I think we're seeing some teams on the rise who can maybe give them a run for their money in a year or two, but Dwight and LeBron still run the show and neither has shown signs of slowing down yet. Dirt continues to fill in nicely around them with guys like Murphy, Bey, and Kira who likely aren't all-league guys on their own, but do enough to accompany the generational talents that the Mavs are built around.
RW -Mavs or the field? Mavs all day.
Trofie- I think its the Mavs easy, but just to be clear its not JUST Lebron. Sure he's been a gamebreaker every iteration of Sim but that is just coincidence and boy do we have the stats to back that up! . I like Tim do see some teams that can make some moves and possibly compete. The Sonics are young and should get better moving forward. The pacers have a great team and have a 1.1 this year. The bucks have a good core and b2b 1.2's . The Bullets can possibly get there and the Knicks I think might be the best positioned to do so this year .
